Established in 1975 by the pioneering Haji Farhan Ali Farhan and his sons, Abdul Salam and Adel, the company quickly rose to prominence as a trusted name in automotive accessories. From its humble beginnings in the heart of Erbil’s industrial zone, the company relocated to Shorsh Road in the northern industrial area, adopting the name “Haji Salam and Adel” and carrying forward its legacy of quality and service.
For over four decades, Qatrah Thahabiyah dominated the automotive market, offering a comprehensive range of products including radiator water, brake oil, ATF, gear oil, engine oil, and grease. As the industry evolved, so did the company’s ambition. In 2000, it began importing premium automotive oils from the UAE, and by 2005, expanded to sourcing high-quality filters and accessories directly from China, solidifying its role as a market leader in Kurdistan and Iraq.
The company’s portfolio includes exclusive dealership agreements with globally renowned brands. Between 2005 and 2014, Qatrah Thahabiyah proudly served as the sole representative of Mannol Germany in Iraq, while also becoming a trusted dealer for Castrol and Fuchs Oil. Demonstrating a keen entrepreneurial spirit, the company launched its own distinctive brands—Japan Gold, Bayer, Frank, and Miami—which set new standards in the region. In 2021, the introduction of the TopGuard brand in the United States further underscored its global ambitions.
